HCM is a little different for each of us, I was dx in 85-86 It`s been a while now. If you are just learning about HCM , I would try the HCMA web site for the best information on the disease. To answer your questions for myself Yes I`ll take meds for life, I can deal with that. I had an ICD implanted in 1991 for V-tach, ICD saved my life in 1995. Doctors have mentioned that HCM can be an increased risk for sudden cardiac death.
Some people can go all there life and never even know they have it. But for many it`s not so good. You ever want to talk let me know you, Stay on top of your HCM.

Is it a life threatening disease ?
Is there any chance for suddendeath for HOCM patients ?
Now I am very much careful abt my health. I started walking 1/2 hr daily and food intake is also controlled.

For HCM it looks pretty good. Mild SAM (systolic anterior motion) is the murmur your doctor heard they may give you a low dose of beta-blocker for it. No diastolic dysfunction is a good sign it often goes with HCM. No gradient in lv cavity means your not obstructed. Do you know how thick the septal is ?
I am not qualified to read echo`s but compared to mine with HOCM yours looks pretty good. Your doctor will probably want to follow up 1-2 a year. With the right management you may live a totally normal life, But HCM is something you can`t ignore you have to stay on top of it. You may want to visit the HCMA web site to learn more about HCM.
