I have been on bata blocker for about 10 years my doctor took me off because I was walking 5 miles a day and I can't lose weight for my blood pressure is fine but my heart rate ios never below 80 and some times it will be 120 never any higher is this a concern I a'm 60 years old I weigh 170?
I have generally blood pressure readings considered normal.I am 79,
my problem is waking up around midnight every night and my head hurting from a throbbing, which I attribute to my puls rate although it rarely reaches above 100. I took blood pressure pills for 5 months with no relief. I was diagnosed with acute gastritis of the stomach lining, biopsies of
the esophagus and colon proved benign. I feel that no medication helped me. Any help for me?

Since your blood pressure seems to be under control with medication the tachycardia that you are experiencing could be attributable to several causes including reaction to medications, fluid or electrolyte imbalances, excess caffeine or other stimulants. Normal pulse rates range from 70-90 beats per minute with 72 being ideal. General health conditions; physical exercise and conditioning, diet and many other factors can influence resting pulse rate but if the elevated pulse continues, spontaneously, then certainly I would consult your doctor to identify the cause and make the necessary adjustments to medications or otherwise treat the problem.
