I would like to say that POTS is active all the time I get near syncope sitting lying etc. any type of adrenaline sensitivity can be anytime. However the orthostatic hypotention is worse upon standing because of the venous pooling. I would definately get a tilt done...
after jogging for maybe a minute and a half, my heart rate is close to 200.. It used to be 150 if i was JUST STANDING UP, and i physically couldnt jog.. Now its around 100, sometimes below when standing, and i can power walk all day long, and jog a little.... for me it was just basic deconditiong.. I wasnt on my feet enough, so when i WAS on my feet, my heart had an exargerrated response to the shift in blood volume.. What helped me was working out, 4 days a week, 45 minutes a day.. Sometimes the heart just needs to recalibrate itself..And the stronger the heart, the easier it is to adjust to things. If i where you, just to be on the safe side i would get checked for POTS, which is a type of arrhythmia which is only active while standing up... Ide also say try some kind of medication, but if you can fix the problem like i have with just increased activity, thats probably best
Hi College Girl, thanks for the response. I am starting thyroid treatment, but have heard that this can many times lead to more of a racing heartrate. We'll see... My weakness is getting progressively worse, just walking in the house brings my pulse rate up to the 140's, and I know I can't be dehydrated. I drink lots of water every day and stick to a healthy eating plan. It's frustrating because I used to be able to jog for 65-70 minutes and now I'm gasping for air and heart rate is close to 200 after a slowwwww jog for 2 minutes. Hopefully the thyroid treatment will help. Have your symptoms gotten better? If so, was there anything in particular that helped you the most?
i had similar experiences, for me, i was VERY dehydrated, and when i stood up, my low blood pressure would drop even lower and make my heart rate increase, but on another note, you should get treatment for your thyriod and see if this helps.
Forgot to mention that I am female and age 43. So peri-menopause could be happening as well.
