How much we can rely on troponin T High sentivity test

Hi, My mom got sever chest pain and when we did TroponinT High senstivity test it came out as 104.
Interestingly, we also had ECG, TMT and ECHO test  but everything was fine in that.
She is diabetic from past 10 year, also have arthritis , Tyroid  from past 2 years.
Do we need to go for Angiography.

thanks
Rohitesh

Thanks Ed, I got your point.
What would you say about TMT test since that was also fine.

Just to add that an echo and EKG can look perfectly fine too. However, it doesn't look like a heart attack if the echo is fine. It could be a blockage which is 90% or above so ANY exertion is going to cause a lot of discomfort. An echo is done when the patient is laying down, so there is no exertion. The same is with the EKG.

Troponin T and Troponin I are accurate and are only released by cardiac muscle. If elevated, then they usually suggest angiography because there is a very high possibility that MI has occurred. Troponin also remains elevated for up to 14 days. Should you go for Angiography? Given the results of the test, I think the question is really "is it worth the risk not to have angiography".
