In feb 2007 I felt fine and then after eating a meal I had chronic pains. For two days I put this down to indegestion. On the third day, I was fed up with the pains and went to the hospital to discover I needed emergency angioplasty. So, when in doubt, get to the hospital. At least next time you know if the pains are heart related or not.
If you go to the hospital in the next few hours, they can run a troponin blood test which will inform them if it was a heart attack or not, even if you have no pains now.
Are you kidding me? I ran, I worked out yet I experienced those "chest pains" and thought that it was asthma. After a nuclear test and then an engiogram I had 99% blockage and was given a stent. I am now getting ready for a second angiogram for two more stents. The chest pain is telling you something. Running does not counteract smoking. Get to a Dr. quickly. BTW I am a non smoker and eat healthy. There are many factors associated with heart disease.
You cannot subject your body to the effects of smoking and "try and keep fit". This does not make sense.Google smoking and the effects on the cardiovascular system. I have never smoked, cannot be around 2nd or 3rd hand smoke due to a heart ailment that makes my heart ACT like it has a mouth around the exhaust of a car....or a cigarette. Advice: quit smoking. There are plenty of excellent assist aids and programs to help you.Good luck. Joan.
Standard recommendation is not to second guess. If you have the idea that it may be heart related, and you don't feel right, get yourself to the ER. Better to be reassured than to wait and have an event.
Maybe make a call to your GP to discuss what happened and what you felt and see what they recommend, even though your symptoms may have subsided by now. Ever had an EKG done?
Be well and take care.
