I have both bradycardia and tachycardia in one time first second my heartbeat is 50 than next second it 200 or 200 plus after 200 it pulsing 180 or direct come back to 60 or 50 I am too tens my age is 26 year old. I dont want to die because i have so responsibilities. please do for me and pray for me.
Hi , I too am having symptoms like yours. Drs have had me in & out if hospital for stents from 86% blockages. My symptoms of really high Bp (hypwrtwnsive crisis, and now I'm in hospital for Bradycardia 42 and hypotention.
I have heard of adrenal glad problems that can cause our symptoms with erratic blood pressure. Look up pheochromocytomia , might be helpful
any information would be helpful. was in hospital last week being treated for abscesses in colon multiple iv meds being given 4 days into stay i experienced a drop in heart rate down to 30 with tachyarrithmias the condition persisted throughout the rest of my stay finally reaching a heartrate of 60 at time of discharge. along with the heart rate problems my blood pressure kept getting higher. at home i have been experiencing vacillations in heart rate and b/p with readings running from 98/59 with 113 heart rates to 154/100 with heart rates of 40 to 70. experiencing palpitations shortness of breath, fatigue, weakness. needless to say i am concerned.
But what i did read is that lifespan will be normal with pacemaker . If SSS is main issue of course. If there are other problems that may be the cause of SSS, like heart structural anomaly or so on, then prognosis may be different.
Yet, there are contradictory data everywhere.
I'm not so sure about your answer about SSS. My daughter was 6 years old whan they found she had SSS (amoung other issues). At 8 her AWAKE heart rates were in the 30's range an we were told by her doctors in Houston that when rates are that low, the heart can stop beating all together. Without that pacemaker being inserted, she would not have lived much longer.
Statistics is "flawed"
This rather poor mortality rate is cause by median age of SSS sufferers that is well over 60's, many who does die within 5 years does so because of unrelated causes.
If person with SSS is young then his/her lifespan can be same as any other person.
Thank you for responding, I have worn a halter monitor for 24 hours and they were not able to find anything. I only get this sometimes, not all the time. There are months that I can live normal and not have any symptoms at all, then there are times when it will bother me alot. I don't have congestive heart failure and I was told that I have a lot of extra electrical activity in my heart, even this will occur only sometimes. I have passed all the tests. My symptoms started in pregnancy, I don't know if that had anything to do with it. All I know is I am hoping against all hopes that it will go away and I can be active more that it will let me be right now.
I also have Brady Tachy syndrome, which is also called Sick Sinus Syndrome. I think the mortality rate for people with this syndrome varies as to the cause of it, and there are many different causes. It is rare I think in people under the age of 50, but it obviously does occur.
Have you worn a 24 or 48 hour monitor that would record your heart activity? That would give both you and the doctors a great deal of information. Do you have Congestive Heart Failure or other cardiac-related issues?
I had a pacemaker inserted which has given me great relief -- no more light-headed moments and also I can now be prescribed medications in doses that are effective in controlling fast heart beats.
