Hypokinesis is a medical term to describe an imparirment of heart wall movement.  Apical is the location. Hypokinesis can be the result of a lack of good oxygenated blood flow to subject location.  The underlying cause can be occluded coronary vessels and/or a previous heart attack that have damaged the heart cells. The degree of impairment can be associated with the ejection fraction (EF).  Normal is 50 to 70% and the fraction of blood pumped into circulation with each stroke.

Hope this helps.  Thank you for the question and if you have any followup questions your are welcome to respond.  Take care.
