Post EP Study & Ablation

Im a 40yr old male that had an Ablation over 2 months ago.  I am still taking Coreg, and Coumadin.  I was on Amiodarone prior to the ablation.  The ablation was a success acording to the DR.'s, but I have this feeling like someone constantly has their hand on my throat.  I have to clear my throat probably every 20 minutes.  This usually produces a white phlegm but there are no traces of blood in it.  Additionally, I usually hit a wall in my jogging at 4 minutes and have to walk then run, walk then run to finish my exercise program.  I use to be an average jogger doing about 3 miles  4-5 times per week.  Now, I just keep hitting that 4minute wall and then I have to walk for a minute. Its really a pain.  I have also put on a good 10pounds.  I dont drink, or smoke.  Has anyone else experienced these same symptoms.  Thanks in Advance.  Im thinking the phlegm could be toxicity from the Amiodarone, and the shortness of breath and weight gain the Coreg. Im doing about 40mg per day of Coreg.

I had an ablation in December, but did not experience the symptoms you mentioned.  However, I did not do well with amiodarone which I was given after the ablation.  It seemed to make me nervous--so much my handwriting became almost illegible.  I stopped the amiodarone early with the permission of my doc and have gradually recovered.  Within three to four months I began to feel entirely normal.  I take no medication now other than a daily aspirin and lipitor for cholesterol.  I should note that I am 24 years older than you, but still I am reasonably fit.  I plan a short hiking/fishing trip in our Wyoming mountains on Monday.  Soon when the snow leaves, I expect a hike of about 12 miles and up to 10000 feet in elevation.  Perhaps yours is still an issue of needing a little more time for complete healing.    You have some important issues to talk about with your physican .

it sounds like you could have developed asthma...it produces a white phlegm but?? If you do not have a doctors appoitment soon, I would make one to discuss your problems..esp the weight gain as with heart issues it can mean heart failure..I wouldnt wait to see what others thought..I would check it out ASAP.
