Hello. I am 44 year old. Never smoked. History of MVP and PAC's. For the last year I have been having symptoms that mimic that of Prinzmetal's Angina. Frequent daily chest pain for weeks. A few months of almost no pain, then cycle starts again. Never short of breath. I get the associated left shoulder, arm, neck, jaw, teeth pain. Also get pain in left upper back. I have had 5 ekg's, a stress echo, 1 ER visit, two 24 hour holter screenings, a 10 day event monitor, a cardiac CT with contrast, chest x ray, rib x ray series, thoracic MRI, cervical mri, brachial mri, EMG's, abdominal ultrasound, upper GI series, and more. Everything is negative except that the halter diagnosed the PAC's(where are controlled nicely with Cardizem).
The pain never comes during exertion. I run 3 miles five times a week with no discomfort. The pain is literally a one second painful twinge right over the heart of mid sternum. Then no pain for 10 minutes to a few hours. Then a twinge again. I hurt enough to stop me in my tracks, but it is not SEVERE pain. I am running out of room here. My Cardiologist says it is not cardiac pain, and not prinzmetals. I should add that stress or severe cold weather does NOT trigger symptoms for me. I am concerned that something is being overlooked. I read so many posts where people were told that they were fine and that they didnt have PA. Next think they are having an AMI. Any opinions out there. This is my third time on the forum.
