Usually a cardiologist will see a patient a few weeks after the procedure and evaluate the condition./symptoms. If the cardiologist is happy with the symptoms/condition of the patient then no further appointments are made. The patient is left to use common sense and liase with their GP. This is obviously understandable, if Cardiologists had to see every single patient they have ever treated, they would have no time for anything else such as surgery or taking on new patients. Even after bypass surgery there is usually one visit unless complications seem obvious.
If complications arise then it's wise to visit ER or speak to your GP.
