Sinus Arrhythmia

My cardiologist suggested I take half a pill of Metroprolol Tartrate twice daily for what he said was an extra heart beat on my EKG I did the Stress test and he also said ai didi great apart from that extra heart beat . He also found a mild+ leak from one of the Valves (dont know if these are related). I generally hate pills and this is no exeption. Should I take these pills for this condition.

I actually dont have any pains or anything like that However at times I can feel my heart beating harder than I am used to. And that was scary, but the doctor said that since i was showing one more beat in my EKG I should take a half a pill of 25mg metoprolol  twice daily so that my heart would calm down. Many thanks for your response

So what made you put sinus arrhythmia as a title? I'm not trying to be rude and I'm sorry if it's coming across that way. It's just that sinus arrhythmia is not treated with meds. Metoprolol can sometimes lessen the frequency of the skipped beats that you are experiencing. For some it doesn't do anything, and sometimes even increases the frequency. I'm like you, hate taking pills. These skipped beats are harmless to you, it's more the pysical symptoms most people find uncomfortable and sometimes even scary.

Best wishes!

Can you please clarify, did he prescribe the metoprolol for sinus arrhythmia or something else?
