Slow Heart Rate but High Blood Pressure

Recently (last three weeks) my blood pressure is too high 138/87 to 150/90, but I do not have indication of tiredness, dizzies so on.  For last two years my recorded BP at my family Doctor office is around 110/78 and cholesterol is under 200 .

I ride bicycle to work everyday and ride around 40 to 80 miles (hilly) on weekend.

My heart rate is from 52-60 while measuring my blood pressure.

Is there any reason to worry?

I am 39 years old male, 142Lbs and 5”6’.

Thanks

Isn't the systolic classed as stage 1 hypertension and the diastolic dead on the borderline? If it gets to 160/100 then you definitely require treatment. However, I wouldn't want blood pressure of 150/90 for too long. I had blood pressure like that for years, and I'm paying for it now. It could be a simple infection or anything. Did your Doctor take the blood pressure reading using a stethascope? this is the most accurate method outside of equipment in ITU.

Do NOT worry! Even 150/90 is not too high in my opinion.  See you are very active. That is good. You might want to add Yoga breathing, and cut your sodium intake drastically, eat lots of garlic and other blood pressure friendly food.

Keep bicycling :)
