Thanks for your reply. I can now ask my doctor what my EF is. As of now, my doctor is not terribly concerned, so I guess time will tell.

High blood pressure could be the underlying cause for the ventricle wall thickening. Sometimes reducing the heart's work load can reverse remodeling of an enlarged heart wall. Medication can/will dilate the system's vessels, thereby, reducing the resistance the heart pumps against and this relief can return the heart to normal size.
American Heart Association: "An EF higher than 75 percent could indicate a heart condition like hypertrophic cardiomyopathy". An EF is the percentage of blood pumped with each heartbeat...normal is 55 to 75%.
