Surgical wires

Does anyone feel their surgical wires poking them in their sternum? i feel like a stabbing pain, it hurts whenever i move or even when i'm not moving. Does anyone have any idea how to relieve the pain?

You should have an x-ray so they can see if they are causing problems. They can usually be surgically removed if a problem.

Yes, sometimes when i move a certain way i feel the pain more =/ i did break all the wires in my sternum so that could be the reason why they poke me.

The last open heart was in 1992. My sternum was cut open then. But the scar is completely healed. Its just that now i have a red rash like look in between my breast

I assume that by "their" you mean you had surgery. If not, forget this. But I had gallbladder surgery, I don't know, maybe 20 years ago, and I can not bend forward toward my right side without feeling a stabing pain - so I try to avoid that. The reason: they cut a nerve. Could that be something similar with your pain?
