Yes, he saw a pediatric cardiologist after the second episode, which is the one that sent him to the ER because it happened at preschool. The cardiologist did his own EKG and it was normal.
He did suggest that if this keeps happening we can consider doing a monitor, but the episodes are about 2-3 months apart, so it would probably be difficult to catch. I don't think he's ever had an echo. Not recently for sure. But he was premature and spent time in the NICU, and I don't know if they did any cardiac evaluation other than following his PDA closing.
Thanks!
Have your sons records sent to an Electrophysiologist for evaluation, and then try and schedule an actual appointment for him.. Has he had an actual evaluation by an EP or cardio besides in the ER or Urgent Care? That would be a great place to start.. Ide ask for an echo if he has not already received one, and a holter or event monitor depending on the frequency of the syncope. Keep us updated and good luck with your son :)
Just a quick update. Just got off the phone with the cardiologist and he said my son's EKG definitely does not show a Brugada pattern. And he said he disagrees with the machine's finding of partial RBBB. His review and measurements of the strip showed everything normal and healthy.
Would still love to hear any comments. I'm still waiting to hear from my own doctor about whether my EKG pattern is worrisome or not.
