To be honest, if you suffer Angina and haven't had a scan yet, then I would lay off any exercise more strenuous than walking until the results are known. Diet change is a good move.

It all depends on the tolerance of your Angina. Some people can achieve a heart rate of 140 before symptoms, some only 100 and so it depends upon the individual. I would start with the simplest exercise, gentle walks. If you feel your Angina symptoms coming on, then either slow down or stop for a couple of minutes and then continue. Over time you should find that walking becomes easier. How was it diagnosed as Angina? did they spot blockages in your arteries? and why didn't they open them? It seems a bit odd that someone wants to change their lifestyle to improve their health and they are left with angina to get on with it, making it harder.
