Doctors please shed some light on my chest discomfort

3 weeks ago i started getting this dibilitating chest discomfort.  It feels like it starts in my upper abdomen, and radiated to my chest into my collarbone area, into the front of my neck.  It is extremllly painful however NOT sharp or pressure..it feels like a burning, but not heartburn or refulx.  It feels like bees stinging me between the sternum and chest bone.,  When it comes, (which i can feel coming right before) it makes me break into an insant sweat and i just wanna die.  Sometimes it comes at night, sometimes it lasts ALL night.  Sometimes i get it in the day.  It started 3 weeks ago out of no where.  Its extremly dibilitating.  After the episode is gone, all my muscles and especially my neck feels like it went through hell.  I have been to a cardiologist who has ran every test and said i am fine heart wise.

I have been to the hospital 3 times for this and was told it is eseophogeal spasms.  I have been on prilosec for 2 weeks, and no difference.  What else could it be.

Does this sound like a variant angina?

Any info would be great

A little about me...24 year old female, pcos, non smoker, no alcohol, no drugs.  Slighty overweight, I do have anxiety but since i have had it for so long i know how to tell the difference between chest pain from anxiety and soething just not feeling right.

Hi Navywife1022,

First, I want to welcome you to the PM (Pain Management) Forum and let you know that we are glad you found this Forum. We are all CP (Chronic Pain) Patients that help each other with our own expertise and experiences that we have developed through our own CP Issues.

I need to let you know that as Tuck stated in the Welcoming Message, there are no Doctors or experts on this Forum.  All of us are CP Patients, just like you.  :)  There are some Doctor Forums on here.  If you will go up to the top and click on the Tab that says Forum, you will see a choice for Doctor Forums.  When you click on that it will show you 2 lists and the one on the right is the Doctor Forums.  I hope that this will be of help to you. :)

That being said, this could very well be esophageal.  To find this out you need to see a Gastroenterologist.   You need to have your PCP give you a referral to a Gastro Specialist.  If you don't need a referral than you can make the appointment yourself. :)  This Specialist can tell you, one way or the other, whether or not this is what you are dealing with!!

If it turns out that this isn't what is going on, then you need to keep digging until you get a diagnosis as to where this painful condition is coming from.  Don't give up!!!

I wish you the very best and hope that you will keep us informed as to what you discover.

I'll be looking for your updates..........Sherry  :)
