One would have to assume it was an angiogram.
what test did ya do to show the blockages, ive been told stress test only shows if your 70 and above. would like to know which test showed yas low findings
Actually I've seen no evidence to suggest that removing fats from the diet will stop the progression of atherosclerosis. This is because fats are not the initial cause of the disease, just an unfortunate side effect. What you have to do is try and stop the initial cause of the disease because even low levels of cholesterol will form blockages if you have damaged arteries. You need to ensure your blood pressure is in the lower end of the normal range, exercise regularly and avoid all forms of stress as much as possible. If you have no damage to the arteries, there's no reason why fats should build up.
In 2002 I was diagonised with 50% and 30% blockages. I have low cholesterol, both my hdl and ldl are low. I just had a 24 hour monitor, that was fine, and ultrasound with dopler, that was fine too. Stress tests in 07 were fine. However dr. wants me to start zocor 20 mg. I am so afraid of taking it as to the horror stories I've heard about taking statin drugs. What are your thoughts?
There are no medications that remove blockages. High does cholesterol medications may cause some minimal regression. Cholesterol plaque develops from Fatty buildup inside the blood vessels over time. Some cholesterol is made by your body but most comes from the ingestion of animal proteins, eggs, milk in our diet. I say all of this to illustrate that the best way to prevent further progression of the cholesterol plaques within your blood vessels is the elimination of fat within you diet. Other than that, cholesterol agents that work in various ways to prevent absorption of fat from food are the lifelong solution.
