Heart flutters

When I lay on my left side my heart starts missing beats and I wonder if it could be pressure on a heart valve. I have a hydlehernia and also wonder if it could be the hernia putting pressure on my heart causing it miss beats. I can be sitting up and turn to my left and it does the same thing but not as bad. whenever I lay down and it does it, I sit up and it stops. I am so worried about it that I now have lost 8 pounds and feel nausiated most all day. Anyony have any ideas, all will be appreciated.
Thanks

I had these flutters fo quite a long time and even ended up wearing a halter for 24 hrs to track them.  Mine were harmless..extra beats from somwhere.  However, no Dr could tell me how to get rid of them until a recent medical at a different hospital.  I told the Dr about them...he asked what meds I was on..lipitor, plavix, Toprol-XL..asked when I took them...at night... and told me to take the Toprol-XL in the morning..not at night.  No more flutters.

Just read your responce and do appreciate it. Here are a few other facts about my condition.
This may sound strange but sometimes when I do not eat I get the missing beats, or when I run the same thing happens. It just comes and goes without any warning. Otherwise I'm O.k. I feel weak when this happens but I think that is from not eating right or anxziety. Today it happened one time and that was when I got up and moved quickly.
I have seen Doctors over the past and they have no answers. I have asked them if any of their patients ever had the same symptoms and they never give me a solid answer, only, well every patient is different. I asked for an ecocardiogram and the answer is, we'll give you a different blood pressure pill. Yes, I take atenenol, norvask and nexium. Also if I get any answers or insites to this problem I will let you know as soon as possible..
Thanks

It sounds interesting to me , being I have had about the same problem.. when laying on my chest -face down in bed (sometimes)  or on my sides ?  I get a jittery feeling inside
sometimes rapid heart beats happen.  im on medications for h.b.p. already.. hmmm!

iv been trying find info on this - as my Doctor has no clue what it could be ?
he loves pushing pills on me (ginny pig)  so wont take any as could be a side effect from the other meds im on now ??

have to ask are you on any type of b.p meds ?  I always thought it was my belly pushing up aginst the heart sack , when I was laying down or on sides.. as when I sat upright
it stopped in a few seconds.   and everything was fine ?   felt ok ..
im a bit overwaight due to meds iv been on .. have a overhang belly condition , thanks to toprol xl .. beta blocker medication.

I have a month with out the problem and could sleep right side up and upside down ..
didnt matter , didnt have the flutters or racing heart beats.

last night it happend again .. and this a.m early !  so wondering just what it could be ?

again I will work to find out what it is..  and how to stop it !    will post when I find out

the hunt begins !    boogernose
