chest pain

Hi all,

I had a sudden sharp pain in the middle of my chest that lasted about 30 seconds to a minute. I wasn't doing anything strenuous, just closing a door and pushing a towel into the gap between the door and the floor with my foot. I am wondering if this is something I should be concerned about.

I don't have insurance, so if I want to see a doctor I would probably have to go to the ER.  I have an appointment to get a physical at a free clinic, but the appointment isn't until Sept. 15.

I am not too sure what else to add. I have been having a lot of anxiety lately, and have been worried about getting sick. A couple of nights ago I noticed my heart rate was pretty high, around 120 and I wasn't really doing anything then either.

I wonder if the two are somehow connected, if I should be worried, or if I am just making something out of nothing. I also wonder if I should just wait until my appointment, or try to go see a doctor at the ER.

Thanks for taking the time to read my post, any help or advice is much appreciated.

I am not a dr. but it sounds like the symptoms my husband was experiencing, and what he has is angina.

I haven't seen a doctor yet, I am going to wait until my appointment on the 15th.  The pain hasn't really been bad since that first time. I have been feeling some tightness in my chest still. Sometimes it hurts worse when I lay a certain way, or if I take very deep breaths I sometimes get a little twinge across my chest.

Thanks for the responses.

Cardiac chest pain usually isn't a stabbing pain, but rather a burning pressure.  But then it can be different for others. If it continues or is accompanied with shortness of breath, nausea or dizziness then it is worth checking out.  What you are describing though sounds more like muscular or even anxiety.  Take care

pains in the chest could be trapped nerve, muscle ache, anxiety or even heart problems, you should go to a doctor asap especially if the pain is in the middle of the chest, if its anxiety it can make ur heart rate above 100 bpm you may feel sick, lightheaded, get tingly arms, feel shakey, what other symptoms do u have?
