diastolic dysfnction

In the two years between echocardiogams with dubotamnine my diastolic dysfunction has gone from phase 1 to phase 2 despite coreg, aspirin, crestor, diet and daily 30 mins run/walk, heavy gardening etc.  I was not prescribed new medication such as ACE. I am 83 with one well- placed stent in RCA.  What's my  future?

Only your doctor can tell you what your future holds based on your medical history. Having said that, there is nothing in your post that would make me think you have a time stamp on your future. DD is a tricky thing, it can be present on an echo one day and not 6 months down the road. DD simply means that your heart muscle has stiffened and it has some difficulty filling in it's diastolic phase. From what you're describing you are already doing everything right. My father is 81 and in speaking with his cardiologist he has stage 1 DD and it is really of not significance at this time even though he is 7 years out from a 5 way bypass. Just stay as active as your doctor will allow and keep your heart's condition a strong as possible. Again, I wouldn't stress too much about the DD, we will all have diminished function as we age, it is going to come and go based on your conditioning at the time of your echo.

Hope this helps,

Jon
