sudden hypertension & palpitations

I am a female, 39.

I wake up at 3:30am to get for work (retail). I leave the house at 4:30am and it takes 100 steps to get from my car to the front door of my job. (pedometer comes in handy)

After about 50 steps, I felt lightheaded, dizzy and like I was going to pass out. After about 10 minutes, I took my BP at the pharmacy with the auto BP machine.
5:04 am - BP 151/96 & pulse 148.

It felt like my heart was going to beat out of my chest. After a few minutes, took it again.  5:09 am - BP 140/96 & P 146

I left work right away, drove myself home & drank a glass of juice & some water.
5:30 am - BP 136/101 & P 145

My whole body was throbbing with each heart beat. I had palpitations or fluttering as well.

5:54 am - Suddenly, my heart stopped. Well, I don't think it stopped, but it went back to normal.
6:00 am - BP 121/83 & P 68

Never had a problem with hypertension before. Usually it is 118/78.

Can low blood sugar cause this or is there something else going on?

The same exact thing happened to me. Cut out the juice, drink 6 if not more bottles of water a day. Make sure each is 8oz n keep your body temp kool but do not take a cold shower cause u may send ur body into shock. This will help manage ur bp. As for the palps stay calm, panic n nervousness makes it worst. Have ur magnesium level chkd. Take folic acid, calcium, fish oil vitamins to help manage the hr upon an attack. Also hve ur thyroid, lungs n all other blood chkd. I think its about 7 diff tests. Breathing exercise helps to. these r temp reliefs giving some time to research the cause. Once u find the.cause u can treat the problem. Im still researching myself but this has helped a whole lot. I wish u the best n be consisent. Oh yea if.gas is a issue chg ur diet. No green foods especially.

have you checked with your doctor?  Dehydration can cause it as well as anxiety.

But its better to let your doc know and keep an eye on things :)
