thanks for your info, i dont drink caffeine, but i do suffer from stress as i am a single mum with two young kids. They only seem to happen when i am sitting down and resting, which i dont understand. I take magnesium, calcium and zinc supplements everyday as this helps my anxiety too. I'm just too scared to go to my doctor incase it is serious. So i am a bit stuck!!
Get a ultrasound of your heart. Maybe you have MVP. I have that and it was discovered this way. You are getting premature venticular contractions. Avoid caffeine and stress. Also try not to let the PVC's panic you it will only make them get worse. I know it's hard but try to distract yourself. When you get them sit down and rest. Also you may not be getting enough magnesium potassium in your body. I'm not sure but thats what I've read
I have an irregular rhythym called atrial fibrillation, and it often feels like my heart stops for a moment.
It is not always serious but sometimes it can be and you should go to your doc and explain how you feel to him. He will probably order a holter monitor to wear for 24 hours to see if you go in and out of a-fib.
Mine started at age 17. I'm now retired and still have it. I had a pace maker implanted 2 years ago which helps a great deal, but I've been pretty much controlled by meds all those years.
The doctors told us that everyones heart takes a little rest now and then. If the heart does not start up in 20 seconds, then the person will pass out, which normally due to the fall starts the heart back up again. If you notice that your heart stops for longer than 2 seconds, you may want to have an EKG to make sure everything is okay with the rhythm of your heart.
