heart

I have been under a lot of stress, no question there.  About a week ago out of nowhere and not having eaten I suddenly felt like I had a huge lump of something in my throat, felt lightheaded and odd and tingly and my jawbone started hurting like an absessed tooth....in a few minutes it started subsiding and after only another few minutes all was gone. I haven't been feeling good for the last few months, but assumed it was stress, can't sleep enough, and when I drink water, which I rarely do, I feel drugged. I almost always have "discomfort in my chest cavity. The symptoms seem to indicate those of a heart attack in females, but it's been a week since the incident with the lump in throat and jaw pain and it hasn't happened again, I just don't feel good.

I hadn't eaten anything and it's not really happened again with the lump in throat and pain in jaw. The only thing I notice when I eat is I always feel full and "heavy" in the area center below my breasts. Apparently the drinking water issue is likely due to the fact that I don't usually and when I do I drink as much as I can to get it over with and that depletes electrolytes. I'll be going to the doctor on the 10th and definitely will be having my gallbladder checked cause the pain in my chest cavity doesn't go "through" to my back but I often have pain in my upper back behind my heart as well. Too hard to separate pains and feelings with scoliosis, spondylosis, fibromyalgia and degenerative disc disease with bulging discs in the cervical thoracic and lumbar areas. The sudden lump in throat and jaw pain concerned me but passed somewhat soI'll have it all checked out.  Thanks

I'd mix in some water with your meals, it sure sounds like a GERD or swallowing issue.  You may need what is called a motility test to determine if your swallowing reflex is working.  I've had both cardiac and GERD issues that resulted in surgeries and your symptoms sound like GERD, but I'm not a health professional.  Ed is right, check it out with a doctor.

If it's heart ischemia and brought on by eating, it would also be brought on by exercise at that stage, even walking up a slight incline. Stress can obviously affect the digestive system dramatically, so I would get a Doctor to check you out.
