Zinc is very important for hair.
One more idea: My dermatologist says Minoxidil (the stuff you apply to your scalp) often works better for women than for men. It may not give you really great hair again, but it will often stop the shedding.
Unfortunately, many medical websites indicate that *all* the beta blockers can cause hair loss. It doesn't happen to everyone, but apparently to quite a few patients.
Are you taking the beta blocker because the sensation of your palpitations disturbs you (as it does many of us on this forum), rather than for any other medical problem?
If so, I would suggest another form of therapy for this type of anxiety. Several people here have had good results with various anti-anxiety medications, which lessen our worry when we feel ectopic beats. There is also psychotherapy, which can teach us to be less afraid of them.
I can understand such statements if you are deficient in magnesium. Determining is someone is a little low on magnesium is not easy because very little of it is actually in the blood. The far majority is held in our bones and tissue.
Maureen Salaman, health guru, says that magnesium can control HBP and palpitations as well as a HBP drug. I am going to try her advice while monitoring my BP at home daily. I don't need hair loss but I cannot deal with palpitations and the health risk's associated with it. Since Beta-Blockers help the heart stay calm via reduced impact of adrenaline and by slowing the heart rate, perhaps a mild anti=anxiety medication is also in order. My heart does not want to be agitated.
