I've got the same problem for several years now. I wake up at night and my fingers, hand and sometimes my lower arm too are completely numb. If i touch it it feels like it's not mine or it's dead. When i pick my 'dead' hand up with my other hand, and start moving it, the feeling comes back within a minute. I went to see a doctor and he suspected CTS. I've been examined but they found nothing, so no CTS. Don't know what to do about it now.
I'm female, 24.
Hello and hope you are doing well.
Your symptoms can be due to nerve compression of carpal tunnel. In this the median nerve is compressed at the wrist in a place called the carpal tunnel. Symptoms begin with numbness and tingling of the first three or two fingers from the thumb side. Then the numbness or tingling can spread upwards to the arms. Nerve conduction studies are quite diagnostic. Treatment is usually by splints and steroid injections. Surgery may be required in some cases. Only a consultation with your primary care physician can help diagnose.
Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
