Almost all of us have them.  Very annoying, but not deadly.

atenolol is for high blood pressure.  Were you experiencing reflux before taking the drug?  It is not usually a treatment for reflux.  You need to ask your doctor for a precription to treat reflux ie antacid.  You can get over the counter ant acid like Zantac, Prilosec, Pepcid. The are not as strong as a Rx, but can help until you get to your doctor. Elivil an antidepresssant can also be used for reflux. Ask your doctor before taking any medications. I hope this helps.

I have trouble with acid reflux too. When that is really acting up, my palpitations are always worse. I actually asked my cardiologist about once. He said that he wasn't surprised because the acid reflux probably upset the vagal nerve which could cause more palps.
