palpitations

well i have posted lots of questions about this but it is making me so anxious, i  eat certain foods and then get palpitations, i was eating a chicken wrap in the pub the other day and as soon as i got up and walked to my car, i could feel my heart thumping away like a palpitation, it lasted about 20mins but i start getting anxious then thinking my heart is going to go that fast that it wont slow down,i have had heart scans and ecg done the past 6yrs and everything was fine apart from ventricular ectopics, but my concern is i can feel my heart beating all the time and when it goes faster for some reason i get anxious, especially after food, does anybody else get like this.

I too am bothered with this for the past 6 years or so. Have had ECG's and even an Echogram of my heart. Everything looks normal except the upper left chamber of the heart is slightly enlarged. (I'm 60 years old, so I guess this partly due to aging).
I take it this is not something to be concerned about because otherwise my primary care doctor at the VA would have referred me to the heart specialist.

I've noticed that too that after eating I get it, so try not to eat right at bedtime because it's just so hard to relax and go to sleep when my heart is pounding, and sometimes it's
kind of fast 100 plus beats a minute.

I was wondering maybe blood pressure has something to do with it, my blood pressure does go up at times I guess when I'm worried. Anyway mostly I ignore it, but it just drives me crazy at night, it's so hard to sleep when your chest is pounding.
Lately i've been doing accupunture and have gotten some good results, feel more relaxed.

Your heart has to work harder after you eat.  Eat smaller meals during the daytime and try to avoid fatty foods.  I have these same symptoms and it is annoying, but I have learned to live with it.  It started as a child when I was 7 and is still continuing at age 44.  I try to watch what I eat and eat more vegetables instead of meat.  Caffeine, black licorce and exercise plays a role in this.
