I was confused with my fathers report. In 2013 it said poor r wave porgression and flat t wave abnormality and after 6 months it just had flat t wave abnormality. How can it happen
Any thoughts are appreciated. I have recently been told that I have a poor R wave progression, tricuspid regurgitation, and minimally stenosed carotid arteries. I am symptomatic with fluid retention, increasing weight, occasional left upper anterior chest pain, shortness of breath, occasional cough, hot flashes, and chronic hiccups.
Thank you,
Michelle
Thank you very much indeed, your help was very much appreciated!
Hi there, it depends on the cause for poor R wave progression. Poor R wave progression refers to the absence of the normal increase in size of the R wave in the precordial leads as you progress from lead V1 to V6. This can occur due to anterior myocardial infarction, left bundle branch block or left ventricular hypertrophy, in which case it may appear on successive ECGs. If it is due to causes like tension pneumothorax, the finding may disappear once the condition is resolved. Regards.
