recovery from heart stents

my dad had two stents placed for a 95% blockage at the of March.  It has been over 8 weeks and it seems his recovery is going very slowly.  His medication was adjusted and now this week he is finally up and moving around again, doing some things here and there, but he tires very easily and sometimes seems to be a little confused from the medication (or stress or mild depression?).  I was just wondering if it's normal for the recovery to take so long.  I keep hearing different things.....2 weeks, 2 months, 4 months.?  I am very worried for him and would love to know that this long recovery can be normal along with tiredness and slight confusion.  He is 58.

Hi. I was on beta blockers which, although helped with any discomfort, made me ever so lethargic. I would ask your Doctor to run blood tests if he has been put on statins, they could be causing the confusion. It can take three months for the heart muscle to fully recover, taking it there was no permanent damage. Perhaps the Doctor would be willing to lower his dosage of beta blockers (If he is on these) to give him more energy.

Hi.  Thank you for the response!  I am having such a hard time finding real information from real people.  He seems to be well adjusted right now with the medications in that he is regaining his energy....slowly, but it's coming. There was, however, permanent damage to the heart muscle.  Could this be the reason for his slow recovery?  I take it from your response though that it can be normal anyway?
