scared about stress test

I went to the cardio today and had ekg done and talked to doctor.  he wants me to have a stress test done.  I have been having lots of skipped beats, which we can't ever catch on Ekg, and what I am wondering is, is this normal treatment for skipped beats?  Does he think I am going to have a heart attack?  I am a 33 year old non smoker, I am overweight but I am normally active.  I am just a little nervous about this.

Don't worry I'm only 25 years old and I've head 3 stress tests. My cardiologist told me they are the most accurate test they're is without the catharization.

stress tests aren't really stressful.........they want to see your heart under an exercise load to check not only its function but these tests are often used to see if there is any blockage in your circulatory system.

You go slow at your own pace and they will push you but only to your own limits...........

Ironically I've always felt better after one of those test............

It seems lots of people get uneasy when stress tests are mentioned, but from my personal experience, if someone is bothered by extra beats a cardiologist will usually put them through the whole workup to ease their mind and rule out any remote possibility of it being due to something else.  It's fairly routine, yes.  I think most of us here with extra beats have had a stress test.  Myself, I've had about six of them over the past 10 years, and I'm a 28 year old healthy non-smoker who is extremely active and in fairly good shape.

So don't let that scare you :)  Sending good thoughts your way for normal stress test results.
