ventricular blood clot

O:ver a year ago, my cardiologist discovered what he says is the largest blood clot in my left ventricle that he has ever seen.   The clot was discovered by means of an echocardiogram.  My doctor started a regimen of coumadin and I believe he told me that within 6 months the clot was no longer visible.  Recently (over six months later) procedures were needed to be done that required stopping the coumadin medication for five days.  My cardiologist disagreed, stateing that I had a blood clot, the largest he had ever seen.  I asked him about the "improvement" I thought he said we had made and he acted like no improvement had been made and was talking as I was as bad as originally found.

My cardiologist only practices at one hospital in town and the procedures were to be done at anothe hospital in town where he does not practice.

I am baffled.  After over a year of medication, have I not made improvement and still not considered a candidate for elective surgery??   What are my options?

I have the same diagnosis - blood clot in apex of left ventricle.  Of course, the first thing the cardiologist ordered - after putting me on warfarin - was a thallium chemical stress. After having had two MIs - this thallium stess test produced absolutely nothing new as to my blood clot condition.  At the last office visit, the cardiologist informed me that he would check the clot status with an echocardiogram after nine (9) months - if I'm still alive at that time.  Oh yes, the cardiologist took me off Plavix fifteen (15) months before the blood clot diagnosis!?!?

Have you had another echocardiogram to see if the clot has reduced?
