I have test results from last years echo, and it found some trace regurgitation of the mitral and tricuspid valve. i read some where that regurgitation of the mitral and tricuspid valve does cause leg pain. I dont know if trace can be the cause of my ongoing leg pain.So if anyone knows what type of heart disease causes leg pain i will ask my doctor to order the necessary test.
I have PAD (peripheral artery disease) and had developed a 100% block of my iliac artery supplying blood flow to my left leg. For 2 years I walked around with great pain in that leg shrugging it off as arthritis. It was a burning ache that prevented me from walking much. I was always telling people to go ahead when I was at the mall or in the store. I would say I had to rest the leg and catch up with them. The cardiologist couldn't believe I endured the pain that long. And he noted that my left leg was 1 1/2 inches smaller than the right. It wasn't until my foot went numb that I decided to talk to a doctor about this. They couldn't feel a pulse in my left foot. They did a doppler and then sent me to the cardiologist. He did a peripheral cath. It took 4 hours to get the stent in the blockage because of the scar tissue or calcification that had built up. The cardiologist had thought at one point he would have to do bypass. But he was able to finally place the stent. Did you mention this leg pain when you went in to have the cardiac work up? You have to let them know about this, otherwise it might get missed.
Talk to the doctor. Take care, Ally
You do not mention it, is the pain happening only when you try to walk or is it alway present?
Are you on any medication?
If you are not on medication and the pain is only when you walk, might be due to a peripheral vascular problem, which is not related to heart problems.
Jesus.
