Hi, i was diagnosed with svtParoxysmal supraventricular tachycardia (psvt) and pvcs 7 months ago. I am due to have an ablation next week.
Usually my svtParoxysmal supraventricular tachycardia (psvt) episodes have been very infrequent and when they do happen my heart rate is usually fast (200bpm) and hard but very regularRegular insulin. The episodes usually start and end with a very hard, out of place beat and they usually last for a minimum of 15 mins and a max of about an hour.
Today i had a really weird episode that has really scared me. My heart atarted beating very very fast for about 4-5 beats and the stopped again. There was no usual hard beat at the start and when it was racing it wasn't the usual strong hard beats it was more like a flutterAtrial fibrillation/flutter.
My question is could this have been a short run of svtParoxysmal supraventricular tachycardia (psvt)? I have read many people talk about runs of svtsParoxysmal supraventricular tachycardia (psvt), what does it feel like?? Or could it have perhaps been a run of pvcs? (NSVT) what does that feel like? Is your heart rate very fast during NSVT?
my heart does that to and its just runs of pac a lot in a row yes it scares you to death, but its ok , if you have been checked out and they got the pvc/pac on holtor than your fine. have you had a eeco done . it tells you a lot about your heart and makes you feel better . try and relax. they are just bothersomes .
It's very difficult to tell just from heart beat sensations what type of arrhythmia you have. Don't even try to self-diagnose. One needs an ekg reading at the same time as the wierd beats. So a Holter monitor is normally suggested. However, since you are about to undergo an ablation, hopefully the EP will be bvle to induce the wierd arrhythmia during the EP study and subsequently ablate it away.
Best of luck with your upcoming ablation. I'm sure you are in good hands.
Yes i've had an echo done which was normal. I'm concerned as i've never experienced anything like that before. When you get a run of pacs does your heart beat very bast? When i get pacs/pvcs usually they are slow hard beats rather than fast.
Best of luck with your upcoming ablation. I'm sure you are in good hands.
