With a low EF there is a reduction of the heart's output. The symptoms of this medical conditions could be edema, weight gain, decreased urine output, dizziness, syncope, restlessness, anxiety, fatigue, weakness. With ample compensating factors, a low EF may not present any symptoms...if there is decompensation, the above symptoms, etc. would be apparent.
Heart failure range is 29% and lower and it is assumed that parameter does not meet the oxygenated demand of the system and cause symptoms, however, it is estimated that about 26% of a heart disorder (EF>>>>My low EF (below 29%) was caused by an enlarged (dilated) left ventricle. The left ventricle was inlarged due the heavy workload of the high resistence because of ischemia (low blood flow) to heart cells. ACE inhibitor (dilate vessels) and beta blocker (manage heart rate and BP) reduced the heart's workload and my left ventricle returned to normal size. The enlarged ventricle was the underlying cause for weaker than normal contractions. Currently my LV and EF are within the normal range.
Hope this helps. Take care,
Ken
Any possible effective medicinal cure for low EF (other than pacemaker implantation)
I assume that you mean "symptoms of LOW lvef".
The common ones are: tiredness, short of bread, fluid retention, pulmonary edema...
However, to feel them or not it is very person dependent. I have seen people with EF of 15% symptoms free and others with all of them with an EF of 50%.
Jesus.
