withdrawal symptoms ? or what ???

I have been on b.p medications for meny years now - from beta blockers to ccbs to ace to others...been around the block on meds. I have been fighting for months and years to get off the meds and try something diffrent! natural or
with less adverse side effects!   long ago a few years back I was on a beta blocker meds -weened off it and was free
of its effects after about 2weeks - felt wonderfull but b.p went sky high on me .. so back to the old chemical meds.
now iv been on a ccb verapamil for about 6months total time - b.p was controlled fine ,but started having adverse side
effects ,as lightheadedness, weakness, and short of breath when doing anything at all.  so I weened down off of it.. after my doctor gave up on me, due to my adverse or allergic reactions to ccbs.  I got off the medication ccb within 2 weeks of weening slow - since off iv had meny things or effects happen , such as headache that wont stop pounding ..
and spikes in b.p readings (high)  and cramping and aches in back area.  and neck .. some buzzing in ears..
and dry mouth at times !   I started taking a natural medication for blood pressure, it worked ! and held the pressure
down - but headaches got worse , and left eye started to water .. off andon..  today im switching to another natural b.p lowering med -diffrent made than the other.. hopeing headache will fade and aches go away..

I belive im going threw somekind of drug - withdrawal symptoms - as even without the natural meds - the effects still
happend.  so what im saying is this - after being all sorts of blood pressure medications for years..
withdrawal symptoms can happen !   or is it addiction to the meds ?
I seem to want the medications iv taken before !!  but wont go back unless I have to ..

I have before gotten off the chemical meds - weeks then went back on them ,but got the same old side effects !
in some cases got sicker !   and had to stop them cold turkey..   but Doctor switched chem meds for b.p  and I was
fine again .. for about 1 or 2.  then had the same **** happen again !!

well here goes, try 2 for natural meds -
I have a appointment with a new doctor soon.  but fear taking chemical medications -due to side effects and problems
iv had..

the big problem with verapamil was - every other drug interacted with it..  couldnt take asprin .. couldnt take this or that
ccbs suck !

fingers crossed.. im not going back ( unless Im forced to )

I agree with you on the risk factors, but after years upon years on these drugs,, I had to try to get off them and try something diffrent -in chance they might work for me.. well they didnt !  so im back on the chemical b.p pills again.. sos..  as far as the poison goes
I do agree again with you, I was told by pharm person, that I was more less allergic to the fillers -in the pills I take ?  and that the fillers had the real stuff that caused my side effects ?  but I tend to agree more with you, that the med its self is the poison we take
and causes the side effects to happen.   I guess like I wrote above - I will seek and find a way to take off the edge or stop the side effects from happeing , as clearly I have to be on somekind of b.p lowering medication for life.  no way around it !!  unless something natural comes up that works, but that is a thinn line ... and most likely wont happen ..

thank you again for your post ..boogernose

Thank you for your post,
well I had to go back on the good ol medications again, as b.p went too high - and I just didnt feel good off the medications. Im doing fine now and im back on my normal dose of verapamil and max.  bp is down -
I guess the next step would be to try and counter act the side effects ?
or take the edge off them ?  how to do that, is my next venture in life.

I really think iv been on these meds too long - and im more less additced to them  - so could be why I had such a hard time getting off them - withdrawal symptoms , I know alot of doctors would say its not that at all.. but drugs are drugs !

well anyways back on the old stuff , nice try for me ,but it didnt work out !  and I would rather fight the side effects -than having a stroke or
die .. it came to that ,yesterday a.m !!

I did talk to natural doctor,  they said I was allergic to the natural meds?
that I took.   well wont take them anymore simple as that !

thanks again

You are putting yourself at serious risk for a stroke, not to mention major strain on your heart.  Believe me, the side effects of a major stroke, assuming it doesn't just kill you, are way worse than the side effects of these drugs.  I hope your family is supportive as you may need caregivers.  It takes a lot of trial and error sometimes to find the right combination to control hypertension.  Sometimes, if not all the time, we all have to put up with side effects in order to live.  But of course it's your choice.  Choose wisely.

Most everybody has side affects from BP and other heart medications......I take so many different types that I have zero energy. With each pill there comes a little poison. This is a quote from a famous doctor. The poison may be what is causing our side affects.

We are all unique in the way we respond to medicines. Some experience more side affects than others and more extreme than others.

One thing for sure is that you need to keep your BP under control. If you don't, it can cause your heart to enlarge, and also cause you to have a stroke among other things, and will eventually kill you before your time!
