Other reason for heart palpulations?

I am 46years old.  Earlier this year I had an "excellent" stress test and EKG.  I am very active and exercise usually 3 times a week. In August my heart fluttered for about 20 seconds (first time I every noticed).  There after the flutters are coming several times a day. Since, I have had a echogram and another EKG with a cardiologist and he said that everything is FINE! and to cut out caffine and try to stop smoking (which I am)  My primary phsyician has also told me not to worry and prescribed some anexity medication - low dose.  My question is, "If all examines and test checks out O-K, what are some other reasons from the flutterings?

hi
this is just a thought answer to reasons for flutters and yes i agree everybody gets etopics some feel them some dont but the heart is a super intelligent piece of work and it likes to feel emotions ,throw tantrums ,beat fast with exercise ,get excited and so  forth ,but certain working's in the body can cause it to get upset. Palpitations have several causes including:
Mitral valve prolapse (a condition associated with palpitations,  Hyperactive thyroid gland.  Electolyte disturbances. chest wall pain
Smoking.  Drinking alcohol.  Drinking too much caffeinated beverages.
Being tired and not getting enough sleep. anxiety will play games with the hr as well ,other reasons would be arrhythmias but i see u are clear of these at the moment if these do continue for a spell an eveny monitor would show u exactly what is going on when these flutters happen ,but if everything is good deep breaths in and out slowly for a minute or 2 and im sure these will clam down

best wishes

I have been wondering this myself.  But this is what I have been told:  "Everyone gets PAC/PVCs.  Some are more in tune to feeling them.  Once you feel them one time, you will wait for them so you will feel them everytime"
