Any Help?

Just wanting to know if anyone that suffers from frequent PVC's or PAC's has any remedies for making these ease up a little bit?  I've tried everything, but can't seem to keep them away.  Had them for years on end, and they control my life.  I cannot live it to the fullest.  Thanks for replies.

Thanks for your response!  I have been to 5 cardiologists, have done several tests.  They all say that my heart is fine, but the feelings just don't seem "fine" to me!  I believe I have a little of all going on.  PVC, PAC, SVT.  My SVT has calmed down alot.  On BP meds.  Just upped some beta blockers because I was really stressed out for awhile, which like you said, really set them off!  Wow, they are starting to get reduced since upping the meds, but wow.  It's just hard to explain to people what I am feeling.  I know i just need some relaxer pills, but i've tried 3 different ones, but nothing helped.  I've had holter monitors and event recorders also.  Thanks for replying.  Take care.

Hey Cheers!  Thanks for response.  Yes I have been to numerous cardiologists.  They all say my heart is fine, just something I have to live with.  It just drives me crazy.  I wish I could reduce them dramatically.  I'm not sure about the vagus nerve stimulation.  I hope you find out on that.  Keep me updated too!  Good Luck also!  Take care.

Its funny. I dont have IBS or any tummy issues. But when I get the heart things pretty bad, then my tummy gets upset. So it is opposite for me. Probably stupid anxiety.

Question - I was going to post this seperatly but I feel I have been posting too many. Anyone familiar with VNS - vagus nerve stimulation. Its like a pacemaker, but for the vagus nerve. I had a shrink who told me years ago that they were coming close to using this for arrhythmias, anxiety and all sorts of problems.

Yes, the vagus nerve gets stimulated and the signal travels to the heart is the theory.  I can get them in other ways but the stomach seems to be the biggest trigger.

I have noticed stomach problems make mine act up too, actually. I have IBS and when that flares, within a day or two I start to notice more PVCs, lots more.

You can try beta blockers.  Those may help even out your heart rate and help slow down the amount of errant beats you are having.  Definitely try to release any stress anxiety you have.  They are a big trigger.  Also, for me, stomach issues can also trigger them to ramp up.  So if you think you might have any stomach issues that can be addressed you might find some relief.  Finally, if you have numerous pvcs or pacs that are disrutping your ability to function then you may try an ablation to correct the probelm but ablations for them are met with mixed results and reoccurrence is a lot higher than other svt ablations with complications or creating other problems higher as well so most EP won't offer it as a first line of defense unless you are having upwards of 20,000 a day and have exhausted all other avenues to manage the errant beats.  So how many do you think you are getting.  Are you experiencing any other symptoms along with them?  Are they affecting your ability to function other than stressing you out?

That said, the fact that you are unclear whether you have pacs or pvcs does this mean you haven't been to a cardiologist to get your condition diagnosed?  If not it is probably a good idea you at least get your heart checked out.  In the absence of heart disease the pvc/pacs are of no consequence but it would be good to rule out any heart disease since your heart is acting up.  Good luck.  I hope you can get a handle on these and feel better soon.  Keep us posted on how you are doing.

How often does it happen? Duration?

From what I hear, aside from medicine (and that doesnt always work) I really dont know if there is anything. I know my anxiety makes them a bagillion times worse...so trying to calm down (which sometimes seems impossible) would probably be most imortant. Have you seen a Dr/been diagnosed?
