Glad things are going well for you--Im hopeful to get to the 2nd ablation. Im glad there is an opportunity for help. I've chosen a great place-because of the uncomfortable and anxious feelings-im getting a great chance to use all of my coping skills to keep going with my daily routine with no one knowing. thanks for the feedback
My own experiences with ablations (all 3) were quite different. They managed any pain or discomfort with Versed and fentanyl. For the most part I just floated in and out, didn't care what they did and for the most part, didn't remember what they did. Some folks do develop a hematoma at the catheter sites; I did not. Sorry about your rash. Again, that's not the usual reaction.
I've wondered about damage to the veins that are used many times but so far haven't experienced any trouble with mine. I also asked once about long term effects of ablating parts of the heart. I know the spots are very small (talking millimeters) but the cumulative effect of many burns? I don't know. I seem to be doing fine. They generally don't do things that would put any of us at risk. Risk vs. benefit you know.
Sorry the ablation is so rough. It is a procedure I had considered for AFib, but given my mild symptoms my Dr says not worth the risk. You ablation recount adds some reality to my Dr's concern/recommendations.
I've seen many posts from people who have undergone one or more ablation procedures, maybe this "bump" to the top of the list will give the visibility you need to get a helpful input.
