The simplistic way it was explained to me is we have a pulse regulator of sorts that sets shortly after birth. Resting rates can vary widely among individuals but an accepted average normal rate is 72 beats per minute for an adult in average physical health. I give an uneducated guess and say that while your rate may be a bit over average during the activities you describe, it's not far out of the bracket. I felt mine average was a bit over normal a few years ago, and was put on Metoprolol which slowed my resting pulse down into the low 60's. I feel good like this but I may go off of it now that my SVTs have been eliminated.
thank you very much. I appreciate it.
The numbers you provided seem "normal" to me. A resting heart rate of 100 is a bit high, but as you also see 60 the suggestion is something is driving the variation. I think a resting at the same level of physical/emotional activity would get the same HR +/- 5 or 6 bpm, In any case, getting up and walking around would easily add 15 or more bpm to the HR I'd guess.
