A Tachycardia that concerns me

3 nights ago, I consumed virtually 3 1/2 bottles of white wine. I obviously had quite a hangover the following day, but with a twist. I have had persistant tachycardia (w/ palpatations) for the last 2 days. I ran a 12 lead on myself showing sinus tach at around 95-100 bpm.
Last night it appeared the tachycardia broke, allowing me to sleep. But the funny thing is, with I exert myself, I get some discomfort (not chest pain) in the 2nd and 3rd intercostal space with mild palpatations.
I'm sure I initially dehydrated myself, but what could be causing the discomfort and intermittant palpatations??

You work with cardio's and you didn't ask one of them? I'd have them hook me up and get some tests done :P

ack, it didn't subside isn't a good sign, did they prescribe the Lopressor? hopefully you'll find out what's causing it

Hey thanks for the FYI......although I'm not dependent on alcohol, I can "hold my own". Not something to be proud of though.
The ironic part, in reference to your first statement, I don't need to see a Doc....I work with 'em day in and day out.....yeah  Cardiologist's.
The Tach. didn't subside in a few days, but since I've been taking Lopressor, it has helped with the discomfort.

Def sounds like a case of holiday heart syndrome and will probably go away after a few days, maybe a week - if it doesn't check with a dr:

I just have to say wow...I'm floored with 3 1/2 bottles of wine though?  I've never drank much but every year for my anniversary I have 1 nice glass of White Zinfadel and want to fall asleep, not sure how you stayed upright after  3 1/2 bottles :P
