Ablation for pvcs

Hello everyone,
Im 43 (female). Short history of myself, I have had 2 ablations done for RVOT VT. Both were successful. well, I have been dealing with awful pvcs in which im very symptomatic with them. I went to Cleveland Clinic for a second opinion (5hrs away, but really like the Dr.) anyways they had me wear a 24hr holter and told me if the pvcs were high enough they would attempt a pvc ablation. I wore one and had the report sent to Cleveland as well as my local EP. I recieved a call from my Local EP saying he would do the ablation and then 2 days later I recieved a call from the Dr. from Cleveland Clinic saying that I have a appt. on Dec. 10th for a ablation..... What do I do??? Im so confused....

I'm sure your EP Dr is more than qualified!  He did your first one right?  So you have not had any VT since your first ablation. That is great. Was he able to bring a run on while you were on the table?   My ablation lasted so long because he could not bring on a run of it.

He only got 5 beats at the most.  I don't know if that is good or bad.  He did ablate some spots.

I hope all goes well for you.  When are you having it done?

It was for VT, not sure if it was a success. The Dr felt it was. Had 5 beats of VT(no runs) the night I had it done. My Magnesium and potassium were low so they think that is what caused it.

My EP could not bring on a run of VT I was on the table for 6hrs. He only got 5 or 6 beats of VT. He did ablate some arrears. He was happy with how it went.

Having a lot of PVCS they tell me this is normal.

The hospital was Hanemann University Hospital.

Are you having the ablation for your VT or PVCS?

The hospital is Robert packer (Guthrie).... My local EP is well respected and I do trust him, he brought me thru 2 successful ablations for Vtach, but I needed the reasurance that these horrid pvcs were benign so i decided for a second opinion.Well it wasnt until I wore this last 24hr monitor that my local Ep decided to try to ablate the pvcs, in which I had copy faxed to Cleveland and they set me up a appt for in Dec. for a ablation...i had a appt this morning with my local Ep we discussed the whole situation including my appt in Cleveland in Dec. and he feels confident but will understand if I choose Cleveland. He can get me in for a ablation next Thursday if I want the appt... What a decision lol....

So you just had a ablation done? If you dont mind, what was yours for and what Hospital in Pa did you go to? Was yours successful?

What hospital is you EP connected with in PA?   I just had an ablation in PA. I also have a friend who is on her way to the Cleveland Clinic for a heart procedure. She is the manager of our Football team and I trust her with my son’s life. He was severely hurt last year and she got me through it.

She was voted the best in her field for 2007/08 I trust her totally. So if she is going there maybe it’s not a bad idea. I had my ablation done before she told me this. Next time I would think about going there also.

I did have a positive experience in PA though.

I think Cleveland Clinic is the "gold standard" for hear care.  I'd take their recommendation.  When one goes for a second opinion there is always a risk it will not agree with the other.  So, you have to take you pick.

I know nothing about your local EP and am sure s/he is well qualified.  I can also say my EP doesn't recommend an ablation for my AFig, as I don't have serious symptomatic problems. I'm sticking with his opinion, but if I had another opinion from the Cleveland Clinic, I'd give it very serious consideration.
