Ablation or Tikosyn?

I'm 28, pacemaker dependent and have had afib and atach for several years. Over the last 2 years it has gotten much worse and I'm very symptomatic. I have tried most of the anti arrythmic meds that are out there with either no success or bad side effects. I am currently taking the max dose of flecainide that I can , but I still continue to have problems. I've had 4 ablations already and I'm debating on one more. After talking to my doctor the other day, I decided to try one more time with a new doctor that's supposed to be GREAT at treating afib. The problem is, it's going to be AT LEAST six months before I could get into him for the procedure. So now I'm thinking about trying out Tikosyn until I can get the ablation done, but I've heard that it can be a dangerous drug. If anyone has any advice I'd really appreciate it. Should I try the Tikosyn or just try to wait the six months out for the ablation?

As far as my doctor said to me.  The pacemaker can take care of high and low pulse so the med is not a problem.  I started the med at home not in the hospital.  Were you having your av node ablated so it makes you a pacemaker dependent?  Could I ask, what is your fifth ablating for?

Oh ok. Yes , several years ago I had an AV Junction ablation in attempt to stop the severe tachycardias I was having.  Those are GREATLY improved, but I continue to have almost contstant afib. My doctor says with the newer technology and this new doctor, he thinks there is a 80-90% chance the afib could be stopped. And at this point I ready to try something else.  Thanks.

Is AV Junction ablation same as AV node ablation?   If it is, there is  also a therapy of relieving of A-Fib.  I was told after an AV node ablation, the A-tach and A-fib won't affect the ventricles.  The electrical signal was terminated while arrive to the av node.   Plus your pacemaker will pace the set rate as your cardio wanted in ventricle.  AV node ablation is also an alternative of fixing the A-Fib.  Unless you were like me...........

My cardio said, the A-Fib remains Fib in the Atria forever but you won't feel it because of the result of av node ablated.  Other said, as far as you're on the beta blocker to control the rate and blood thinner to prevent the pooling of blood clot.  You'll be fine.  The heart won't go further damage.

I'm confused now. I think they are the same thing. But I feel everybit of my afib and atach. My ventricles are paced 100% of the time, but the atria only 60% . My underlying heart rate without pacer is <30bpm, but with it, it still can go over 180 at times when in an arrythmia. The one I had was supposed to stop( or slow) the communication between atria and ventricles but not stop the atria. The rate in the ventricles are controlled but my atria still go crazy once in a while.And from my understanding, the pacer kicks in and tries to keep up with it to keep it regular( which causes more trouble).  My doctor says that I am unusually sensitive to my heart and that most people don't feel what I do.  I'm not sure, but whatever it is , I wish I could get it stopped.
Also, I'm allergic to beta blockers( cause severe asthma) and never have been on blood thinners yet.
