Pvcs!!!!

Hi, I’m a 32 year old female, I’ve been suffering from pvcs for about 6 months now. I went to the ER thinking I was having a heart attack. So off to the cardiologist, I had a Holt monitor, ekg, and echo done, no stress test. I’ve been using 5 ml of Valium to help when symptoms arise... but as of lately my symptoms have been thru the roof! Shortness of breath, palpitations just from moving... I went back the the cardio and she prescribed me a 25 mg metropol once daily... but I think it’s making my symptoms worse! She said if it doesn’t work then I will have to go have an ablation done. And I’m freaking out! Any advice would be very helpful!!!! N I’ve started supplementing with magnesium, potassium, b vitamins, turmeric ....

Dont take supplements, those are likely making the problem worse. The problem with PVC's often boils down to electrolytes and the nervous system! Some of the supplements you mentioned are electrolytes and if you're taking them without proper medical supervision its difficult to predict how your heart will react.

On the topic of your best course of action:

If the electrophysiologist feels an ablation is the best course I'm inclined to agree.

Ablations have a low risk of complications and a high probability of success!

Due to disagreements about the extensive costs/liability associated with ablation, it's often a challenge for patients to find an electrophysiologist thats even willing to perform one on the basis of patient comfort alone. Even the catheters used are literally made of platinum.. Nothing about it can be done on a budget!

Without seeing your test results, I would assume the doctor is choosing to perform this for your comfort. The rationale for this being the choice of front line management (25mg metoprolol), which is extrmely conservative.

Bearing this in mind:

There are alot of users here actually that want to have one done electively but can not find a physician do perform it; nor can they find insurance that will pay for it! You should jump at the opportunity!

In fact you should jump at the opportunity and share the contact info of the physician so folks can contact them if needed! They sound like a rare breed.
