I think I may be having tachycardia while sleeping.

I am 24 years old, with frequent pvc's every day. I take toprol for them and it helped for about 3 weeks, but they are back, and I have even tried upping my dosage. Well, this has happened a couple times before, but last night I had them really bad, 3 pvc's in a row...2 in a row, single pvc's, it was just going crazy. I FINALLY got to sleep, and was awaken by what felt like what I have read about tachycardia. It was like 8 or more pvc's in a row, but really fast. It's like I try and open my eyes, but I can't, and I can feel myself trying really hard to kick my husband because I am scared and want him to wake up, but... I CAN'T!!! This scares the **** out of me! But as soon as I wake up, it goes away. And... my heart goes right back to beating regular. or at least what i call regular. You know... with all the extra beats.

I have PVCs alot during my sleep.  sometimes they wake me up.  It is scary.  What happens, is that adrenalin is realeased during dreams & wa-lah- just like when you're awake, it affects the heart muscle & it does it's thing.  But if you relax & breathe with it, they do go away in a few seconds.  Feels like minutes, I know.  I always punch my husband if I have a bad attack to wake him up.  Aren't I selfish? But I want him to wake up.  He strokes the middle of my back & it helps a WHOLE lot.  I've gotten back massager wands that are curved & & can actually stroke the middle of my back myself, but it's not as good as someones's hand.  I keep one at home,in the car & at work.

Side effects of some meds can cause increase in PVCs, instead of helping.  Be aware of that too.  Beta blocker (Sectral) & 1/2 mg Klonopin works best for me daily.

My morning time is usually my "fragile" time.  I start my day with a cup of Chamomile tea. Seems to get me started right.

I have been taking Coenzyme Q10 and Magnesium.  It has lowered my palps significantly.

You may want to talk to your Dr. about it.
