I think an ECG test would define the type of SVT.
How do I find out what kind of SVT I have?
I had SVT along with mad BP, I was given Labetholol as part of the cocktail. It slowed my heart down, but it has sides. The drugs work fairly quickly
So far I have not had any SVT (knock on wood) my pulse is lower and I feel kinda tired.
I know its not a cure but if it helps chill out this SVT that would be nice.
I been having episodes of it hourly, like every 5 minutes I would get a run of SVT that would last only a few seconds at a time, maybe 12-14 beats then it would go back to normal.
I honestly can not take it emotionally or physically anymore.
I know some of you have had it for years, for those who have do you have daily episodes?
Also how do I find out what kind of SVT I have?
Enough forum members have reported on their experience with both forms of Metoprolol to conclude that Toprol XL, will most likely do nothing to prevent SVT eposodes.
It will not stop the episodes from ever happening but it should slow the heart rate down when they do happen. But it isn't a cure.
Also how does a beta blocker work for SVT?
Does it stop it from happening or just make it so you can't feel it as much?
