I also wanted to add:
Regarding your leg and the entry point.  Entry is gained by a puncture not unlike a blood donation needle. There isn't any cutting or sutures involved.  The wound looks like a red dot similar to what you see on you arm after donating blood; but perhaps slightly larger. The wound is covered by a guaze pad, and that syran wrap-like plastic covering.  You can shower in two days, and the covering begins to fall off after that.

I think I made a comment on another of your posts, so I apologize if I'm repeating myself.  I had my ablation done on a Thursday, and returned to work the following Tuesday.  That Sunday and Monday, I was already driving about our little country town testing out my leg.  It was not my heart, but my leg that I was concerned about.  A week following the ablation, I drove 250 miles spent a couple of days visiting, then turned around and drove back again.

My ablation was for SVT, but the entry procedures are identical.  my heart required 17 burns, a considerable amount.  for about 2 weeks afterwards, my heart would occasionally ache.  But Advil helped a lot, and it diminished in the following weeks.  The only day I stayed in the house not going anywhere was Friday, the day following the procedure.  After that, I was up and around.  Barring any complications, I'd say you're going to be ready to go in a few days.  If you get it done on a Thursday or a Friday, you've got two free days right there to recuperate.

I am due to have my ablation on the 19 of October.I have an ICD since 2004  for Vf.But it never shocked me.But I developed Afib since 2009.I had maybe 7episodes since that time.I am managing well with Tykosin, but my last afib episode ,I had 233b/m.doctor suggested ablation.I told him as long as I can go back to work in one week ,it is ok with me.He said it shouldn't be a problem.I drive 4 to 5 hours a day to meet customers.NOW AFTER READING YOUR POST AND SIMILAR ONE,I HAVE MY DOUBTS ABOUTTHE TRUTH OF BEEN ABLE TO GO BACK TO WORK THAT FAST.I CAN'T afford to loose my job .Driving and suddenly having my heart jumping because it is healing from the ablation procedure can cause me great problem.I AM THINKING TO  put the ablation off for the moment.

Was this sustained SVT or was it of short duration, like a dozen beats or so?  It is very normal to have little runs of SVT and occasional arrhythmia up to a year following your procedure.  I had a terrible week or so of arrhythmia 7 months after my ablation in 11/2010.  I thought mine was a failure.  But then it suddenly settled down and I've been fine ever since. I'd speculate and say that a sustained run of SVT, one that lasts for minutes or hours is not normal and may indicate a need to repeat the procedure.   One month may be too early to tell, but it certainly bears watching.  What does your EP say?  Don't be surprised if he is reluctant to call it a "no good" this early.
