Chest vibrations cause trouble breathing

Hello,

I have been having chest vibrations and irregular hear beats for about 3 years. They have been very rare in the past, and usually only occurred while I was trying to sleep. 2 days ago I started having them pretty regularly and yesterday and today, they've been occurring at all times. 1 or 2 every minute more or less. They are relatively painful and some of them cause a sever shortness in breath.

I am a 25 year old male and I eat healthily and exercise quite often. This past year I've been eating a little less healthy and not exercising quite nearly as frequently as I usually do, but am still very active. I've also been sleeping less and my caffeine in take has been quite high due to a demanding job and still attending college, there has been some recent family trouble as well. So, I'm guessing the chest spasms are stress related. I also have a slightly imbalanced thyroid, but nothing too out of control. I do plan on seeing a doctor, I just don't have health insurance and there is no way I can afford a bunch of tests so if anyone has any kind of clue to what these may be, it'd be a great help.

Thanks,

matt

Thanks Linda,

Yes I've made a doc appointment. I do go the my endocrinologist regularly and take a thryroid pill for that every day. I've gone in the past for the heart rate, but they just tried to give me anti-depressants so hopefully I'll find more help this time...

Thanks

You could be experiencing bouts of a-fib no matter how healthy you are.  Caffeine can be a real trigger.  So can stress.  As for your thyroid, you need to have not just your TSH levels checked but also you T3, T4 and T Free 3 checked as well.  Maybe you could go to a free or sliding scale clinic.  You shouldn't ignore or play aroiund with these symptoms. You need to take them seriously.  An irregular HR can lead to a stroke if you're not careful.  Please go and have this checked out ASAP
