What did you have your other 2 ablations for? VT or Vtach CAN be dangerous; we're not doctors and no one here can say for sure if it's going to be dangerous for you again.
There are many of us here who have VT and it's not dangerous; but then there's those like me that VT is dangerous and could kill us. I have Polymorphic VT and had to have a pacemaker/ICD implanted for my low hr's, tachy & dangerous VT runs.
Is there a Cleveland Clinic, Mayo or other large clinic in AZ? If so, I know CC has financial assistance programs on a sliding fee scale based on income, Mayo and other large clinics may as well; it might be worth the call to find out.
As someone else said - what's your life worth? It might take some doing but explain the situation to your dr and tell them you can't afford the procedures or need a payment plan.
I know what you're going through, I went over a year with no insurance and no job to pay for medical care - I played russian roulette with my life and it's a scary thing to go through. Heck even with insurance now through PCIP, I still have to pick and choose what tests to have done and what doctors to see because it's so expensive.
At least get to the cardiologist and get a holter to see what's going on and go from there.
Hey! Hampton Ark! We are quite a bit away from each other though! =)
MaSa, I understand your reluctance to go through yet another frightening procedure, but most of us here are lay people, although some of us have studied physiology in some depth. None of us are in a position to evaluate someone with a history of V-tach or to give you advice about medication vs surgery.
You must have a serious talk with a doctor about this. The answers will depend on what is different between your workup of ten years ago and now.
I didnt mean to make it sound like it wasnt a big deal. I was wondering what all they could do to fix it without having to have ANOTHER ablation. My first ablation was horrible I woke up in the middle of it. My second one I went into a rythm they almost couldnt get me out of & had to be shocked repeatedly. I really dont want to have more surgery it's a scary thought. Is there a way to treat it with meds or am i headed that way? My PCP said that everything is mostly normal with PAC just an epdisode of the 6 mins of vtac ona 24 hour monitor....I read that some ppl have this & they are just fine...I dont know...thanks for the responses guess I just wanted some advice.
You say you 'really can't afford it,' but V-tach can be an extremely Big Deal--and you have already have two ablations at an early age, indicating serious problems. What's your life worth?
Depending on what's going on, yes, you could die. You need a cardiac workup, and you need it now. As to how they would 'fix' it, no one here knows what your EKG looks like, so the fix is dependent on what is found in your workup. It's a question to ask your cardiologist.
Sorry to be so blunt, but this is serious business.
I'm not a doctor, but I think ventrical tach is serious. Find a way to see a dr. Perhaps a teaching hospital?
BTW I'm from AR too -- Blythesville.
