Event Monitor - are 5 beeps in 24 hours a lot?

I was put on a month-long event monitor yesterday. The doctor wants to check me out as I've had some long pauses (grey-outs) recently.

I just called the company that makes the monitor and they said I should send them anything it picks up on a daily basis.

It picked up 5 events - I didn't feel them myself, but the monitor "rang" a bell.

Are 5 considered a lot?  They wouldn't tell me what kind of irregular heart beats they were.

Thanks for any information!

I would call yourr dr, they are usually sent to your doctor within 24 hours,  If its anything of concern they usual call the office.

I was put on a month long holter monitor and I used to get like 8-9 beeps a day so I was constantly calling them it sucked...anyways Just so you know if the people see something on your monitor they will call your doc immediatly and your doc will call you....don't stress about it though it will make things worse...(I was in hell the whole month b/c the thing would beep and my heart would race haha b/c it would scare the crap outa me anyways 5 seems alright I used to get tons...some I pressed and some would go off on there on I hated it when they would go off when I was asleep :(....anyways hang in there keep us updated!

Thanks so much to you and Debbie. I'm glad I'm not the only one who gets nervous when it beeps. Today it beeped when I was bent over tying my shoes!

I am a runner so when I go out on a run one of the electrodes sometimes  falls off because I'm sweating. I don't notice until I feel the wire hitting my leg. Very annoying.  But I get no beeps when I'm running or exercising - I guess that is a good sign.

I also don't know what to do with the thing while I'm sleeping. Two of my dogs sleep with me and I worry about them getting tangled in the wires. So far they are ignoring the monitor though; even the beeps.

Again, thanks to both of you for the advice and I'll keep you updated.

No, five beeps a day isn't very much.  When I had my monitoring in July/August I was filling up the memory every few minutes at times.  Some days I'd have to call in several times an hour to empty it.  And I didn't even record every single event I had because there were a lot of times I was at work and found it uncomfortable to have my customers listen to my heart beat for the next 30 seconds, particularly when it was out of rhythm.
